He said Maynilad responded to the MWSS letter, but Ty did not share the company’s explanation as the investigation into the issue continued.

“There is still an ongoing investigation. I am not at liberty to disclose this because of the ongoing nature, ”he said at a virtual press conference.

Maynilad had earlier said that the water supply needed to be cut off due to the high turbidity level or the blurring of raw water from the Ipo Dam caused by heavy rains.

“We are also probably going to have a meeting with them for clarification because we sent a team to do an audit and confirmation to the complaints, and we even sent a team to the water treatment plant in La Mesa to conduct verification,” he said. .

He also said that they are still monitoring the “urgent maintenance works” of Maynilad at their water treatment plant in Putatan, Muntinlupa City which caused the loss or poor water supply in the southern part of Metro Manila from November 28 to December 2.

“We are monitoring the situation because they just announced. So we are investigating it… We want to make sure that the public interest is protected by making sure that proper water rotation is done, and if needed, for water tankers to be sent to the consumers, ”he said.

According to Maynilad, the prolonged high turbidity in Laguna Lake water has severely affected Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2, so immediate maintenance works are needed to restore the facility’s water production immediately to normal.
