LAOAG CITY - The Laoag City Public Market and Commercial Complex has been closed again due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
COVID-19 has been reported to have increased positives including vendors, peddlers and shippers.
In total, there have been 20 cases of COVID-19 in the said market.
There is no certainty when the market will resume operations because it is said that intensive contract tracing is needed.
According to the latest authorities, there are 169 active cases throughout the city. The total number of COVID-19 cases here has reached 234, of which 65 have been cured.
Laoag City is under localized modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), starting Friday due to the continuing increase in COVID-19 cases.
Nationwide, 434,357 cases of COVID-19 cases have been recorded, of which 26,916 are active infections.
