Part of the Christmas tree at the mall in Clark caught fire

CLARK, Pampanga - People were disturbed inside a mall here when the upper part of the giant Christmas tree in the area smoked and caught fire on Tuesday.

In the video shared on Facebook, the smoke can be seen dark, but the Emergency Response Team of the mall was able to respond immediately and the fire extinguishers used the fire.

The holiday centerpiece in the mall was made to look like a giant Christmas tree standing on a giant lantern.

The Christmas tree is 32 feet tall with 20 regular-sized lanterns. The giant lantern is 45 feet in diameter and is danced and lit by 1,180 bulbs made by the lantern makers of San fernando city in Pampanga.

It is alleged that there was a short circuit in one of the lanterns on the Christmas tree that caused the fire.

In the mall’s official statement, it said the fire was extinguished immediately. No one was injured in the incident and the operation of the mall continued normally.
