The damage caused by the fire that broke out in a warehouse in Parañaque on Sunday night is estimated to reach P20 million, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
It was after 11 pm when the fire broke out in the wood warehouse in Barangay San Antonio, which started in the warehouse staff’s barracks, according to the BFP.
Most of what was stored in the warehouse was plywood and other wood so the fire spread quickly, and the fire alarm reached Task Force Bravo.
The warehouse’s nearby gas station was also alarmed, so the station’s pump was immediately shut down.
The firemen’s response was also made difficult because apart from the narrow road, there was also a lack of water supply.
“According to Maynilad, their supply here is weak. That’s why we still cross from other cities,” said Fire Senior Supt. Douglas Guillaume.
The fire consumed the 25,000 square meters warehouse and affected the nearby establishment as well.
The warehouse staff also did not evacuate anything other than important documents.
No one was injured in the incident.
BFP continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
