PH-SG relations will be strengthened by the new ambassador

SINGAPORE - The new and 13th Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Singapore Medardo Antonio G. Macaraig has arrived in Singapore. It can be recalled that the service of former Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap ended in June 2022.

The new ambassador was warmly welcomed by Embassy officials, even by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and leaders from ASEAN Missions in Singapore including Thailand Ambassador Chutintorn Gongsakdi, Lao PDR Ambassador Sengkeo Pouangpadith, Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner Dato Paduka Haji Sidek bin Ali and Myanmar Charge d’affaires Soe Myint.

Almost three decades of experience of Amb. Macaraig in foreign service including his service in Ottawa, Canada; Saipan, CNMI; and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

He wants to continue and further strengthen the good relationship between the Philippines and Singapore while promoting the welfare of Filipinos in the country.
