MANILA - After more than a decade of hiding, a former police officer was arrested by the Pampanga authorities on Friday for rape.
According to the PNP, they arrested the 58-year-old suspect under the warrant of arrest filed against him by Hon. Antonio Natino of Regional Trial Court 26 in Iloilo City.
Apart from the alleged rape, the former police officer is facing a case of attempted homicide.
According to the PNP, the suspect raped his 18-year-old assistant in Iloilo.
He went into hiding and went AWOL after he was issued arrest warrants in 2010.
The PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group is looking for the suspect from Iloilo to San Fernando City, Pampanga. They saw hiding in a house in Brgy. San Agustin is the suspect.
A .45 caliber pistol and an airsoft electric gun were confiscated from him.
According to the police, he will be taken back to Iloilo to face his cases.
