Nazarene devotees flock to Quiapo Church early this second Friday Mass of the year.

There was a long line of devotees this morning at six in the morning at the entrance on Carriedo Street but they were immediately let in.

The devotees stationed at Plaza Miranda were not filled.

Lito Tan, who has been a devotee for 30 years, was one of the early queuers. He was one of those who participated in the Traslacion on Tuesday.

From the beginning to the end of the Traslacion, he was tailing the steps on the black Nazarene.

According to him, the system is better now because the progress is faster.

“Compared to before, he is really faster. We used to be reached at twelve o’clock while we were still at the city hall. Today at eight o’clock we are at the Ayala Bridge entering Quiapo,” said Tan.

He also agreed with the church’s decision to put the Lord Nazarene inside the glass

“The one with the glasses is okay, because it used to be full of hijos upstairs. That’s why it’s hard to push him, many people are heavy,” added Tan.

Tan is a company driver, and it has been his decades-old tradition to join Traslacion and go to church in Quiapo every Friday.

“I am thankful for the blessings. My four children graduated from college even though I was only a company driver.” his story.

Like Tan, devotee Sonny Balikwatro was also happy with the rapid progress of the procession on Tuesday.

“Today is better because the procession is relatively fast. For me it’s better not to remove the glasses. Because there’s a lot of things that are being looted, they’re looting until they break,” said Balikwatro.

It can be remembered that the Traslacion lasted 14 hours and 59 minutes this year, faster compared to previous Traslacions.
